FULL DAY WORKSHOP | Weave Your Own Stag’s Head Led by willow artist Joelle
Spend a wonderfully immersive day learning the traditional craft of willow weaving as you create your very own magnificent stag’s head – completely from scratch.
Under the expert guidance of our fabulous willow tutor, you’ll learn how to take bundles of natural willow and gradually shape, weave and manipulate them into an impressive three-dimensional stags head, complete with those all-important antlers.
Throughout the day, Joelle will guide you step by step through the process, teaching you the techniques needed to build the structure, create its character and bring your stag to life. It’s a brilliantly hands-on workshop, with plenty of personalised help along the way, so you don’t need any previous willow weaving experience to take part.
Your finished stag’s head makes an incredible piece of handcrafted wall art that can be displayed all year round – but at Christmas, you can really have some fun with him! Add seasonal greenery, berries, ribbon, bells or twinkling lights and transform your stag into a wonderfully festive centrepiece.
Then, once Christmas is over, simply remove the festive touches and enjoy your handmade creation throughout the rest of the year.
This is a full-day workshop, giving you the chance to properly switch off, get lost in the process and enjoy the satisfaction of watching something quite spectacular emerge from your own two hands.
We’ll keep you going throughout the day with drinks and festive nibbles – just remember to bring along your own lunch.
