Pottery - Pair of Candlestick Holders

Join Vicky from Vicky Potting, an experienced hand-building ceramics tutor based in Derbyshire 

Spend a relaxing, creative session learning the art of slab building and create your own pair of handmade ceramic chambersticks (traditional bedside candle holders with a handy loop handle and a drip dish).

This is a lovely, simple, and beginner-friendly workshop. Because you'll be making two chambersticks, it's a fantastic introductory class - you'll get to practice the process twice to build your confidence and skills!

Design Your Own Style:
Your chambersticks can be completely customised to match your home decor or style preferences. You can choose to make a matching, identical pair, or design two totally different pieces!

• The Rim & Edges: Keep the edge nice, simple, clean, and minimalistic for a modern look, or get creative by sculpting the edge, making it wavy, flaring it out slightly, or adding a fun rim with little balls.
• Personal Touches: You can even stamp a little secret message or name into the base, making one or both of them a thoughtful, personalised gift for someone special.
• Finishes: Crafted from durable stoneware clay, you'll have a choice of beautiful colours for your chambersticks to be finished in.

Complexity Levels 1-2: The Maker (Intermediate) Introduction to clay, combining basic techniques and structural building. Perfect for absolute beginners, whilst allowing those with some experience to develop the design further.

Please note: Your pottery will need time to dry before being professionally fired and glazed. Your finished piece will be ready to collect from the studio approximately 2-4 weeks later.
