Full Day of Pottery – Head Planter
Bring a touch of personality to your plant collection! Join us for a fun and relaxed
workshop where you’ll create a unique plant pot in the shape of a persons head and
shoulders - the perfect home for your favourite indoor greenery to act as hair.
During this session, you will learn to combine several core pottery methods. We will
start with a pinch pot base, use coiling techniques to build up the height. You can
choose to create a sleek, minimalist face or go all out by adding intricate hair,
clothing, and unique accessories to give your character their own story.
Personalise Your Piece:
-
Sculpting Features: I will demonstrate how to add noses, ears, and
expression to your pot. -
Surface Decoration: You’ll have the option to add colour and detail using
underglazes, allowing you to paint on features or clothing patterns directly
onto the wet clay. -
Functional Design: Your finished piece will be a durable stoneware planter,
ready to hold your favourite succulents or trailing plants.
All techniques will be clearly demonstrated, and all materials and equipment are
supplied.
Duration: 5.5 hours
Includes: All materials, tools, underglazes, and professional firing.
Complexity Level: 4 This session is a fantastic introduction to more detailed hand-building. While it is a more skilled workshop, it is still perfectly suitable for ambitious beginners and those looking to develop their pottery techniques.
Included in your workshop:
- All materials and equipment
- Step by step instructions and demonstrations
- Drinks & delicious cake
- 10% OFF in the gift shop on the day
Please Note: Your handcrafted planter will need time to dry and be fired in the kiln,
so it cannot be taken home on the day. Your pottery will be ready for collection from
the venue approximately two to three weeks after the workshop.
PARKING: We have onsite parking to the rear of the property (Via Booth Street)
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT: You will receive a booking confirmation, later followed by an ‘everything you need to know’ email.
