Join Vicky from Vicky Potting, an experienced hand-building ceramics tutor based in Derbyshire
Step into the festive magic and create your very own glowing woodland wonderland!
In this workshop, you’ll craft a stunning handmade ceramic Christmas tree - or a twinkling trio of up to three, that will bring a warm, enchanting glow to your home this season.
We’ll begin by shaping one larger tree, perfect for a tea-light or a little string of fairy lights, before making up to two smaller companions to sit alongside it. Together, they’ll create a cosy cluster of Christmas sparkle.
Personalise your trees with your own touch of magic:
🌟 Delicate cut-out holes to let the light dance through
❄️ Snowy layers or leafy textures for a frosted woodland look
⭐ A shining star to crown your tree, if you wish
Choose from green festive glazes or snowy white to complete your creation.
Using simple and satisfying slab-building techniques, you’ll be guided step by step - no experience needed, just festive cheer!
Your trees will be carefully dried and fired, ready to collect from the studio in two to three weeks, just in time to fill your home with a magical Christmas glow.
Please note: Your pottery will need time to dry before being professionally fired and glazed. On the day, you'll be able to choose from a beautiful selection of rich, seasonal glazes to bring your trees to life. Your finished piece will be ready to collect from the studio approximately 3–4 weeks later, just in time to add a little festive magic to your home.
Complexity Levels 2-3: The Maker (Intermediate)
- Focus: Introduction to clay, combining basic techniques and structural
building. - Experience: Suitable for beginners who feel a bit more confident or have
patience.
