Fused Glass Winter Landscapes - With local fused glass artist Stevie, from Stevie Davies Glass
Suitable for all abilities
Capture a little bit of winter magic in glass and create your own beautiful freestanding fused glass landscape, designed to glow in the candlelight on those dark, cosy evenings.
Using a gorgeous selection of pre-cut glass shapes, glass rods, frit balls and colourful frit, you’ll be shown how to layer and arrange your glass to build your own unique scene.
Think frost-covered hills, snowy rooftops, forests of pine trees, starry winter skies or a wonderfully festive Christmas scene. You could keep things crisp and wintry with icy blues and sparkling snow, add a touch of Christmas colour, or even take inspiration from water and create a completely different landscape. Your finished piece can be as simple or as detailed as you like.
There’s no need for any previous glass experience - this is very much a play, experiment and see where your imagination takes you kind of workshop, with plenty of inspiration and guidance from Stevie along the way.
Once you've completed your design, Stevie will take your artwork away to be professionally fired and shaped in her kiln, transforming all those individual pieces of glass into one beautiful finished landscape.
Your finished piece will measure approximately 34cm x 8cm and can be curved or gently waved so that it stands beautifully on its own.
And this is where the magic really happens... Place a row of tealights behind your landscape on a cosy winter's evening and watch the colours glow, the glass sparkle and the candlelight flicker through your scene. Or simply display it along your mantelpiece or shelf as a gorgeous handmade decoration throughout winter and Christmas.

After the workshop, Stevie will fire and finish your glass panels before mounting them into your stylish lantern. Your completed artwork will then be delivered back to by HeatherMay, ready for collection approximately 2-3 weeks later.
