Fused Glass Lanterns - With local fused glass artist Stevie, from Stevie Davies Glass

Create a beautiful fused glass lantern to light up those dark, cosy evenings - with four individual glass panels for you to completely make your own.
With this workshop taking place in November, it’s the perfect opportunity to embrace a little festive magic. Think twinkling Christmas trees, snowy winter scenes, stars, cosy little houses, frosty landscapes or rich seasonal colours. But your lantern doesn’t have to be just for Christmas! You could create an autumnal woodland scene, colourful florals, nature-inspired designs or simply have fun experimenting with abstract patterns, colours and textures.
And the lovely thing about having four different sides is that they don’t all have to match. Each panel can feature a completely different scene or design, giving you four little pieces of artwork in one lantern. Simply turn it around to display your favourite - or the one that best suits the season.
Stevie will guide you through creating and layering colourful pieces of specialist glass, using a selection of pre-prepared glass elements, shapes and textures. There’s plenty of inspiration to work from, while still giving you the freedom to make your lantern completely personal to you.
You’ll decorate all four glass panels during the workshop before Stevie takes them away to be professionally fired in her kiln.
The finished lantern measures approximately 21cm tall x 11cm wide, with each main glass panel measuring approximately 14cm x 7cm (the door panel is slightly smaller).
Once illuminated, the light shines beautifully through your fused glass designs, creating a gorgeous glow - perfect for cosy autumn nights, Christmas evenings and those darker winter months.

After the workshop, Stevie will fire and finish your glass panels before mounting them into your stylish lantern. Your completed artwork will then be delivered back to by HeatherMay, ready for collection approximately 2-3 weeks later.
