Acrylic Painting - Heather Moors in Bloom | Saturday 18th July - 10am till 1pm
Capture the beauty of Derbyshire's wild heather moors in full bloom in our brand-new acrylic painting class.
Lose yourself in colour, movement and the freedom of loose, expressive painting.
Have you always wanted to paint beautiful landscapes but never quite known where to start? Now you can! Inspired by the wild heather moors right here on our Derbyshire doorstep - purple with bloom at their July peak - this relaxed afternoon is all about giving you the skills and confidence to capture a landscape you'll be proud of.
What's included in the workshop: This isn't a follow-along, step-by-step session, it's for anyone who really wants to learn some proper art skills and enjoy painting in a way they perhaps haven't been able to before. Your tutor Kelly will guide you through a little colour theory, simple composition, and a range of mark-making techniques, before setting you loose to paint your own moorland scene in acrylics on a wooden panel. We'll build up big skies, rolling hills and the rich purples and pinks of heather in bloom, using confident brushwork and plenty of texture. Whether you're a seasoned painter or picking up a brush for the first time, this workshop is designed for all skill levels, with lots of encouragement along the way. It's a freeing, joyful process - there are no mistakes, just happy discoveries!
All materials are provided - just bring yourself and enjoy a few hours of creativity in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
You'll come away with your finished painting on a wooden panel ready to display at home, a new set of techniques and skills to explore further, and a real sense of calm from a few hours lost in colour.
