GLASS ART WORKSHOP | Saturday 4th April - 10am till 1pm
Create artwork with a focus on manipulating different forms of decorative glass and metal elements to create and abstract design full of colour and texture. Be inspired by stained glass windows and use what Stevie called a “mosaic technique” to make a fused glass panel which can hang, be mounted in a frame or placed in a stand. The course fee will give you enough materials to make a 15cm square piece the equivalent, i.e a triptych of 3 5x15cm or a selection of 5cm tiles.
You are welcome to bring your own inspirational images to, we are aiming for abstract shapes and patterns. Stevie wouldn’t recommend anything figurative or any realistic images to try to copy. See sample photos.
Your work will be taken by Stevie to her studio to be fired, cleaned and then delivered back to ‘by HeatherMay’ for collection approximately 2/3 weeks after the workshop for you to finish/frame. Stevie will be able to offer advice on this during or after the workshop.
Includes all materials, cake and refreshments (some people chose to pay a few pounds extra to use lots of extra special sparkly glass)
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? After completing your online booking your contact details will be passed on to Stevie in order for her to contact you directly. At this time she will be able to give you any last minute information about the session and it gives you an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
PARKING: We have free onsite parking to the rear of the building which can be located on Booth Street. Look out for large silver gates and the by HeatherMay sign to the top of the yard. Please park considerately so we can accommodate all cars and avoid parking in front of the garage doors as this belongs to another business.
Please don’t hesitate to contact Stevie to discuss any queries you may have, big or small and make sure to find her on facebook and twitter to keep up to date and see images of previous students work.
